Meet Dr. Brian A. Aslami
Board-certified psychiatrist. Weill Cornell Medicine voluntary faculty. Psychoanalytic training and teaching at the New York Psychoanalytic Society & Institute.
I’m Brian A. Aslami, M.D.. I founded Statera Psychiatry to provide physician-led Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) in a private, focused setting on Manhattan’s Upper East Side. My work is grounded in careful assessment, close follow-up, and thoughtful collaboration with your existing clinicians when that’s the best fit.
Statera Psychiatry, P.C. provides TMS therapy only. If you’re looking for psychiatric evaluation, psychotherapy, or medication treatment, those services are offered through my separate practice, Brian A. Aslami, M.D., P.C.

Background and Training
I completed medical school at Weill Cornell and trained in psychiatry at the Weill Cornell Medicine Psychiatry, part of NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center.
Over the course of my career, I’ve maintained an active full-time clinical practice while also teaching physicians in training. I hold appointments with NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital and Weill Cornell Medical College.
I also pursued advanced psychoanalytic training through the New York Psychoanalytic Society & Institute (NYPSI), where I am a member and have served on faculty, board, and as an officer.
How I approach care at Statera
My psychiatric training emphasized combining careful medical evaluation with an understanding of the person behind the symptoms. In my own work, that means not treating people as a checklist—but taking the time to understand what has (and hasn’t) helped before, what your goals are now, and what a reasonable next step looks like.
At Statera Psychiatry, my focus is specifically TMS therapy. When you’re already working with a psychiatrist or therapist, I’m often able to coordinate with them so that TMS fits into a broader plan rather than replacing it.
I aim for care that is practical, clear, and individualized—starting with the immediate problem in front of us, and then reassessing together over time.
Two separate practices
Statera Psychiatry, P.C. is my TMS practice. It is a focused service designed for patients who are exploring or pursuing TMS therapy.
Brian A. Aslami, M.D., P.C. is my separate psychiatry practice, where I provide psychiatric evaluations, psychotherapy, and medication treatment.
If you’re not sure which practice fits your needs, contact Statera and we’ll guide you to the appropriate next step.
